Q: How long will the new finish last?

A: It depends on if you applied proper cleaning, your new finish will last for many years past your warranty. Most concerns would be peeling but this can be caused by moisture being trapped under the glaze or purchasing the wrong bath mat, this will occur within 30 to 60 days after the refinishing. Your five-year written warranty gives you protection against this possible issue. 

Q: What is the time frame that it take to refinish my tub?

A: Between three to six hours. Refinishing work is done in the bathroom, we also do the clean up.

Q: When tub can be used after refinished?

A: On the third day. The refinish will keep curing over one month period of time, but will not interfere with normal use. 

Q: What is the "finish"? Is real porcelain applied on the tub?

A: No, It is a water resistant epoxy acrylic urethane topcoat which is designed to rejuvenate ceramic and porcelain surfaces like tub and tile, when applied, then cures to a durable glossy surface.  

Q: What can I do about getting the gloss back on my tub?

A: Tried household cleaners? tub still dirty?.. It probably lost it's original finish and has become worn, Therefore leaving the tub exposed to grip dirt and chemical stains. The next best option is to replace the tub or get it refinished. 

Q: Do you change any of the plumbing fixtures?

 

A: No. All problems such as leaks or broken fixtures must be repaired before we are scheduled.


Q: Any bad odors from the refinished process?

A. Yes, the refinished process will have an odor for about six hours. Technician will discuss with you onsite.

Q: Which cleaners to use on my new finish?

A: Dow or Lysol tub and tile foam cleaners are great.  

Q. Why Choose Refinishing over Replacement?

A. Saves customers thousands of dollars, three days of refinishing tub compared to weeks of messy demolition, plumbing adjustments, reinstallement of tub,  framing, dry walling, re-tiling.

Q: What type of surface can be refinished?

A: Refinishing can be done to any hard surface like fiberglass shower tubs and walls, porcelain tubs and tile walls. 

Q: Can my hardware, trim, or drain be replaced?

A: Yes ask your tech at the time of your order, we'll be glad to help (renew) your area.

Q: How is the refinishing process usually done?

 

A: The process is used to ensure that the coating applied remains bonded to the surface and is as follows:


   1. Remove all caulking from around the tub. 


   2. The tub is thoroughly cleaned using a silicon carbide scrubber. If the surface has be coated prior, the old coating must be preped.


   4. The surface is the dried and a strong deglossing agent is applied to the surface, creating a porous substrate for the coating to bond to.


   5. All chips and damage are repaired using a two part filler, which is then shaped to conform surrounding tub surfaces.


   6. The surface is cleaned once again to remove any residue which may adversely affect the high build primer.


   7. The tub is completely masked off from adjacent surfaces with industrial masking papers and tarps.


   8. Ventilation equipment is put in place. The surface is now ready to accept  enhanced high build primer.


   9. Once the high build primer has dried, the first of three finish coats, (in the color chosen) is applied. Each layer becoming crossed link, bonded, with the previous coat ensuring a uniform high gloss finished product.


   10. The tech will then remove all tarps and equipment, leaving the masked tub as the surface is still wet. The tub surface will dry to the touch within 30 minutes, and is usable in 24 hours.


   11. If you have chosen to remove the masking, caulk the tub and re-install the hardware you may do so. If you are unable to do this our tech is able to this for an additional charge.

Q: Can my tub be refinished without being connected.

A: It Depends, the technician can determine that the of your free estimate.


Q: Can the tub be refinished before remodeling?

A: No. Remodeling should be done first for no damage to be done to the refinished tub. 

Q: My faucet is leaking can it be refinished without repairing it?

A. No, First you need to repair the faucet, we cannot refinish your tub with a leaking faucet.
